Every year or two I get this hankering to watch The World's Fastest Indian. If you aren't familiar with this movie, you are doing yourself a great disservice. Anthony Hopkins portrays the legendary Burt Munro.
Burt Munro was an amazing man, a self-made, self-taught land speed racing motorcycle builder from New Zealand. He raced his custom built 1920 Indian Scout at Bonneville multiple times. He cast his own pistons from an alloy he cooked up of old Chevy and Ford bits. I could write all day and never do this fellow any justice, so I'll leave any further research up to you.
Do yourself a favor, if you haven't already and watch the movie, then learn a bit about Burt yourself. You'll never look at building a project the same again
